The below are changes in technical standards/regulations on ICT products in 2024:
- Local testing and certification on 5G technologies:
From 1 Jan 2024, local test reports on QCVN127, QCVN129, QCVN18:2022 will be required for certification of 5G technology. So far, there has been a local lab which have just been licensed to test 5G standards. However, their currently offered fees are extremely high which are not affordable to local importers. It is expected that by the end of this year, there would be another lab which is also license to performs 5G tests
- Safety test report on QCVN132:
This is a new safety requirement applicable to such products as tablet, laptop, desktop computer which will be applied from 1 Jan 2024. So far, there are 02 local labs which can perform this kind of test.
- Updated standard for QCVN55:2011 (NFC, inductive loop …. technologies)
There has been a drafted QCVN55:2023 in replacement for QCVN55:2011 which is expected to be applicable from 1 Aug 2024. Thus, products which have been approved under QCVN55:2011 should be tested under QCVN55:2023.
- Updated standard for QCVN117:2020 (WWAN devices)
There has been a drafted QCVN117:2023 in replacement for QCVN117:2020 which is expected to be applicable from 1 Jul 2024. Thus, products which have been approved under QCVN117:2020 should be tested and re-certified under QCVN117:2023.
- Tests under extreme conditions
From 1 Jan 2024, in application for TA certificates, RF local test reports must include tests under extreme conditions. For TA certificates which were granted during the period from 1 July 2023 to 31 Dec 2023, they shall need to be updated with tests under extreme conditions.
